Sullivan, Leon, 1922-2001

Reverend Leon Sullivan served as pastor at Zion Baptist Church for 38 years. He founded Progress Investment Associates and the Opportunities Industrialization Center. In his lifetime Rev. Sullivan received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President George H.W. Bush and the Eleanor Roosevelt Award from President Clinton. He was well known for his work fighting South African Apartheid.
