This collection expands across Representative Jeff Coleman’s time in office, with the Pennsylvania House of Representatives (2001-2004). Although in office for only two terms, Mr. Coleman collected materials including records of correspondence between himself and colleagues and constituents; news clippings from an assorted selection of publications; VHS, DVDs, and audio cassettes. Representative Coleman worked extensively on passing his first bill for an optional Pro-Life License Plate (House Bill 559; February 1, 2001) and Amendment 3270 to House Bill 623, which refers to the Gambling Expansion Act. He also appeared several times on the Action Report newscast with the purpose to inform viewers of current issues and debates at the Capitol. In addition to his constant presence in the community, as a whole, Mr. Coleman was often recorded on tape speaking with children, teens, and young adults at schools and other affairs. Some of these items reflect the work Mr. Coleman engaged in while serving on the committees of Agriculture and Rural Affairs; Secretary, Children and Youth; Game and Fisheries; and State Government. The collection displays the commitment Mr. Coleman took in knowing the people of his districts with constant contact with residents. This collection contains memorabilia provided by groups that Mr. Coleman visited, oversized items, in addition to paper documents and photographs.
